Garnishment

Colorado law allows creditors who have obtained a judgment against you to take up to one quarter of your wages directly from your employer. A wage garnishment may continue until the debt, attorney's fees and court costs have been paid.

Garnishment is stopped immediately upon the filing of either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13. At the conclusion of your case, the Court discharges, or cancels, your debt.
